Flea Prevention & Heartworm Prevention Products

We currently sell Trifexis®, Sentinel®, Revolution®, Comfortis®, Parastar Plus® and Heartgard® Plus. Trifexis®, Sentinel® and Revolution® are combination products that are effective in preventing both fleas and heartworms. There are specific pluses and minuses to each product. Do you ever forget to give your pet his monthly heartworm preventatives? We have medication reminders that will email you when it is time for your pet’s monthly heartworm prevention. You set it up yourself inside your very own FREE Pet Portal (see the Email Alerts section).

Pet Medication Refills

Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital® maintains a fully stocked veterinary pharmacy in our facility for the treatment and dispensing of medication to our patients. If your pet needs a medication refill that has been previously dispensed, call us at (281) 997-1426 and ask to be transferred to the Pharmacy Refill line and leave a detailed message that includes your first and last name, your pet’s name, the name of the medication and the dose you have been giving. We will contact you no later than the next business day regarding refilling your pet’s medication. All prescription drugs and medications must be reviewed and approved by a veterinarian prior to being filled. As another option, you can send us a refill request from within your pet portal.

We also offer a home delivery service program for prescription medications that we do not carry in house such as heartworm and flea prevention products, prescription diets, and other pet medications. All prescription drugs and medications must be reviewed and approved by one of our veterinarians prior to being dispensed. Once approved, your purchase will be shipped directly to your home from one of our ethical veterinary vendors, ensuring that you are getting the highest quality product from a reputable veterinary source. Recommended Pet Food Products

We recommend feeding your dog a high quality dog food. Premium brands are the Purina Veterinary Diet, Hills Veterinary Prescription Diet, Science Diet, Iams, and Eukanuba. The level of quality then drops to the intermediate pet store brands, brand name foods from the grocery store, and lastly, cheap foods.

With dog food, you get what you pay for. Labeling can be very deceptive. The best way to compare food is to compare price to amount. If it is much cheaper than the quality brands, then the label and advertising are false.

At our hospital we sell Purina and Hills Veterinary Diet foods not only because these are premium diets, but also because they have fatty acids (Omega 3 & 6) in the diet to help with the hair coat.
