Q: One of your doctors is a member of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice.  What is this organization?

A: Members of this organization are required to take additional hours of continuing education above and beyond what is required by law in the State of Texas.  Members of TAVP (Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice) are required to take a minimum of 150 credit hours every three years.  The time and expense its members must invest to maintain 50 hours annually of continuing education reflect the Academy’s strong commitment to professionalism.  As such, only one Texas veterinarian in 15 is a member of the Academy.
